Report at Commission Meeting
The Coast Guard inspectors have had their first look at the ship. The bottom has been cleaned. Shipwright Leon Poindexter and other experts have been looking at all the components of the ship as part of the estimating process.
We expect an interim report to be given to the Schooner Ernestina Commission at the meeting on Friday. (details below)
This photo shows the clear difference between the forward part of the ship rebuilt in Boothbay 3 years ago and the stern which still needs rehabilitation.
The Programming Committee will be meeting after the Commission meeting on Friday. (details below) All are welcome.There are several festivals in New England that will welcome our participation and information and the committee will be discussing these events at the meeting.One particular need is the for coordinators for each of the events.If you can help coordinate participation in any festivals in Providence, Boston, Brockton, North Shore or of course New Bedford please CONTACT US.There will be specific requests after the meeting but organizing needs to start for events in late June and early July ASAP.Please let us know if you can help.

Schooner Ernestina-Morrissey Association, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation with the purpose of raising funds to provide for the maintenance, equipment, manning, programming and operation of the Schooner Ernestina ex Effie M. Morrissey as a sail training vessel, school ship, and educational enterprise.
