It has been a busy and exciting summer for Ernestina Morrissey.  Beginning with the C.W. Morgan visit, Open Ships, ongoing maintenance, fundraising, community outreach continued all summer.  And of course the news that Governor Patrick and DCR have taken the challenge of $2.8 and more of private money pledged to rebuild the ship and dedicated $2.5 million state funds to assure that Ernestina Morrissey will be able to serve the Commonwealth in wonderful ways well into the future.

SEMA hopes you will join us and recruit your friends to join too as we all work toward that future.  There will be many more opportunities to help in Gloucester and at the Working Waterfront Festival.  Share this Update and join the crew as Ernestina Morrissey prepares for her Fifth Life!

Gloucester Maritime Heritage Day

Labor Day weekend is the 30th Gloucester Schooner Festival.  Saturday, September 29,  SEMA will be sharing Ernestina Morrissey's exciting news!  We can use some help.  If you can share your love of Massachusetts Official Vessel for a couple of hours between 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM please CONTACT US.    We hope you will stop by to chat if you visit the festival.  See you next Saturday!

Working Waterfront Festival

This year's festival will be Saturday and Sunday, September 27 & 28.  The theme is  Fishing Families and we are reaching out to families of Ernestina Morrissey.  Do you have a family connection to the ship?  Are you a decendant? Did you sail aboard and now want to share her with your children. CONTACT US  We want to know your story.  AND of course we always need volunteers for Open Ship and for the display tent.  Let us know if you can help.

AHA!

AHA! has been a great partner for Ernestina for many years!
August was a great success.  Check out the next one September 11.  Let's celebrate the Cultures of Ernestina Morrissey!

Thank you, Leah!

Leah has started back to school at Massachusetts Maritime Academy and we wish her every success.  Her enthusiasm and knowledge made her a asset this summer during a very busy on-board season.  After the 10 days of non-stop Open Ship during the Morgan Homecoming she scheduled more opportunities for the public to board the ship.
