A project to modernize Grand Avenue in Escondido is expected to begin soon and it will encourage the outdoor dining that started during the pandemic.

The Escondido City Council accepted $38.8 million in coronavirus recovery funds, making up for lost revenue and easing the overall economic impact of the pandemic.

The Escondido Union High School district has added six electric buses to its fleet.
