I'm back and raring to go. Please excuse my celebration; I'm excited to be here. I am excited to be here in Escondido at precisely this time. We're on the precipice of some tremendous things. And the Chamber is primed to lead the charge.

It's no secret that the last 18 months have been highly challenging and, in some cases, much more. We honor all who have suffered a loss through this pandemic.

With full recognition of the challenges we have met, and with a full wind in our sail, we're ready to pick up the pieces and forge forward with conviction and resolve to make our slice of this world we live in better. And we have a plan.

Each year at this time we shuffle the Board of Directors by paying tribute to those who are terming out and welcoming those who are stepping up to help guide the Chamber on our path to success. The Chamber succeeds when business in our community succeeds. It sounds simple, and in reality, it should be, but it isn't. And that's ok often in life that which is simple does not always lead to the change needed. The Chamber is ready to take on the hard challenges and together we can fulfill our goal and create a better business community, a community united in a desire to help and work together to succeed.

Tomorrow we kick things off with the 3rd of our 4-part Job Fair hosted by the Chamber. The hiring starts at 9am and runs through 2pm, so if you're looking for work or considering a new career, be sure to attend. We have the jobs! In fact, we've already filled over 26 positions, and that's real impact on our community.

The Job Fair is followed up with our Annual Open House here at the Chamber from 5-7pm. It's free and open to our business community, but please register in advance using this link. Join us for an opportunity to mingle with other local business representatives and owners as well as local political representatives including the Mayor and City Council members. Additionally, we'll be honoring our 2021 Rising Stars Scholarship awardees and their families. Mayor Paul McNamara will honor the awardee’s and we couldn't be prouder of this program.

If you haven't heard, The Wonderland Podcast is up and available for your listening pleasure. Take a listen and come back often as we're adding new episodes monthly.

This community is poised for great things, and together we can achieve great things. The Chamber is committed to lead the charge. Be a part of the change happening right here, join the Chamber.

Cheers,

James Rowten (JR)
