NYDIS has partnered with the National Disaster Interfaiths Network (NDIN) to translate NDIN's 26 Disaster Tip Sheets for U.S. Religious Leaders into Spanish. By translating the tip sheets, NYDIS and NDIN seek to support the many Spanish speaking congregations in the U.S. that serve over 41 million people in the US who speak Spanish at home, making Spanish by far the second most spoken language of the United States.
Because religious leaders are among the first and most trusted sources of risk-communication and leadership, they play an important role in their communities when disasters strike. These Tip Sheets provide information to assist religious leaders and their congregations as they prepare to serve and respond in effective, inclusive, and compassionate ways during time of crisis.
