Celebrating Over Two Decades of Dedication to Serving

Esperanza Health Center is proud to celebrate Sinia Rojas (photo, upper R) for 25 years at Esperanza, and Lilly Estrada (photo, lower R) for 20 years of service! As two of our longest-serving staff members, Sinia and Lilly exemplify what it means to be dedicated to Christ and dedicated to serving the community.

Sinia has supported multiple teams at Esperanza, and has cared for a diverse range of patients, including her current role as a Specialty Care Medical Assistant, in which she provides specialized care to patients with complex chronic diseases. In Lilly's 20 years at Esperanza, she has been dedicated to community outreach work toward the prevention of HIV.

Sinia's and Lilly's unwavering commitment over the years has left an indelible mark on our team and the work we do. Esperanza is blessed to have them as valued members of our organization. Thanks, Sinia and Lilly for your enduring loyalty—here's to a combined 45 years of excellence, and to many more to come!

National Medical Assistants Week

Last week was National Medical Assistants Week when we expressed our appreciation for this team of incredible individuals who form the backbone of our health center. Our Medical Assistants at Esperanza are skilled in clinical tasks, keep our facilities' medical hubs running, and understand that healthcare is not just about treating ailments but caring for people. Our Medical Assistants also exhibit Christian character and have the unique ability to empathize and relate to patients. Thank you to our team of MAs!

We’re currently hiring for additional bilingual Medical Assistants to join our Esperanza team - please visit our Careers page to learn more and to apply!

Esperanza Health Center Graduates

Six New Doulas!

We extend our warmest congratulations to our six new graduates of our Maternity Care Coalition Doula Perinatal Care Navigator Training program! Esperanza Health Center is immensely proud of (photo, L to R) Nereida Pomales, Rosemery PerezYdaly Frias, Magaly Hernandez, Jalissa Garriga, and Kayla Gonzales and looks forward to witnessing the positive impact you all will make in the lives of countless families! Thanks to Mahalia Sealy, Nia Nchami, Ruth Johnson, and Holly Tinsley from Maternity Care Coalition for their partnership in making this first-ever doula training possible. Four of the graduates—Rosemery, Ydaly, Jalissa and Kayla—will work as Doula Perinatal Care Navigators alongside our OB/GYN department providers, and Magaly serves as our HRSA Maternal Program Manager. Through our new Contigo program at Esperanza, we will provide integrated doula and medical care primarily for our uninsured prenatal patients and their newborns. Funding for this initiative was made possible through a new two-year grant that we received earlier this year from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

Kayla Gonzales, Doula Perinatal Care Navigator at Esperanza's Hunting Park location says: "I am so excited to officially be a doula alongside the women in this vibrant community! I learned so much from the training program. I feel strongly that this is a calling for me, and this training allows me to serve these amazing women well".

Earlier this month, Esperanza Health Center's Security Team was presented the 2023 APEX Award for Customer Service from the Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers (PACHC) during their annual state-wide conference! Huge congratulations again to Kimberly Gomez, Graceally Marcano Diaz, Joseph Lopez, Ryan Rupnarine, Gilbert Pagán, Corinne O'Neil, Rical Belizaire, Walter Morales, and José Muñiz on their focus on the safety and satisfaction of our staff and patients. Winning the APEX Award is a testament to their hard work and professionalism—congratulations and thanks to our entire Security Team!
