This Saturday we begin our every week schedule. It's still early in the growing season, so there's only a small amount of produce right now.
But we're super excited by the positive reports from our farmers
As long as the weather cooperates, it looks like there will be some really great harvests. We can't wait!
Plants from Biver Organic Farms are almost ready. Paul from Redhawk Acres says there are an abundance of buds on all of his apple and pear trees. And Kris Larson of Theodora Farms (formerly Riverbend Roots Farm) says their veggies will be ready in May.
Now more than ever people need continued access to reliable sources of local food. As such they have been designated essential businesses by the following authorities:
The MO Dept of Agriculture, MO Dept Health and Senior Services, and the St Louis County Department of Public Health.
Additionally, the US Department of Homeland Security lists farmers markets as exempt, essential industries, which include food and agriculture.
We are taking extra precautions and have implemented additional safety protocols to reduce the risk of Covid-19 exposure to our St Louis community of market-goers, farmers, vendors, and staff.
