Grants will be made in amounts ranging from $5,000 to $20,000. LISC will use the funding to provide grants to businesses facing immediate financial pressure because of Covid-19.

What can the grant be used for?
  • Payables to include rent and utilities
  • Meeting payroll (to include the applicant)
  • Paying outstanding debt to vendors
  • Other immediate operational costs

The SUNY Canton Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and The Hoffman Eells Group CPAs are teaming-up to help start-ups and small business owners get a handle on their bookkeeping.

This will help small business owners learn techniques and strategies to help set-up their bookkeeping to manage their business by the numbers. During this webinar we will discuss manual and computerized record-keeping options. Review of Chart of Accounts, Financial Statements, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) that every small business should be watching daily, weekly, monthly to timely adjust profits and cash flow.
February 24-27, 2021 Virtual Conference
The North Country Center for Businesses in Transition (CBIT) will host a virtual event that will attract and empower aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue business ownership in northern New York. The conference — Small Communities. Big Opportunities: Own a North Country Business — will include several one-hour sessions over the course of four days to accommodate participants’ work schedules. February 5-14 Winter Carnival

Winter Carnival 2021 will consist of only three events. These events will preserve the tradition & hometown celebrations of winters past. It will speak to the history and heritage of Saranac Lake both past & present. This year will consist of: Ice Palace, Opening Fireworks and Closing Fireworks.
