National Adult Hepatitis B Vaccination Awareness Day and Protecting Babies at Birth: Hepatitis B Vaccine

April 30 is National Adult Hepatitis B Vaccination Awareness Day. This year’s celebration is especially significant since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently updated their screening and testing recommendations for chronic hepatitis B viral infections.

To recognize April 30th as National Adult Hepatitis B Vaccination Awareness Day, the Hepatitis B Foundation put together a social media toolkit featuring graphics and sample posts. The toolkit has been updated to include more universal messaging and the Call to-Action to eliminate hepatitis B though universal adult hepatitis B screening and vaccination. You can find the toolkit here.

The hepatitis B birth dose program provides patient education materials in English, Spanish, and Chinese on preventing hepatitis B during pregnancy and the importance of babies receiving the hepatitis B vaccine within 24 hours after birth.

Have 15 minutes? Check out this short video as part of the Partnership's "15 minutes or Less" professional education on demand library discussing how to recommend hepatitis B vaccine to expecting families.
