By ministering bilingually, not only does Eternity Now expand its potential audience, it also can target hotspots of persecution of Christians. Nicaragua's communist government recently stopped allowing Bibles into the country and shuttered 1,500 nonprofits, many of them evangelical churches, in a single day.
Nicaraguans accounted for 39% of those viewing EN's first bilingual service, almost as many as the far larger Mexico at 45%. "Dictator Daniel Ortega originally came for the Roman Catholic Church for sheltering protesters, and now he's coming after evangelical Christians," Dr. Huckins says. "The level of religious persecution is rising across Latin America."
Eternity Now is continuing to serve all, however, targeting Nigeria for emphasis with the service, and its viewers had the longest average watch time of any country. "Our hearts are with whoever is suffering for Christ, no matter the color, culture, or continent," Huckins adds.

Goodwin Chair in New Testament Language and Literature at Butler University, he also is a grievous heretic.
