Rabbi's Message
|
Rashi, our great guide throughout the entire Chumash, cites a famous dispute regarding Noach and his righteous status. Noach is indeed labeled a "Tzaddik," but the question remains whether or not this is a relative term. Had he been with other paragons of virtue like Avraham Avinu, would he have been given the same appellation? The debate goes on and on.
The way I see it, Noach is called a Tzaddik and no one else is. Noach saved humanity much like Yoseif did during the famine in Egypt. This is why Yoseif is called (though not in the Chumash) "Yoseif Hatzaddik."
How do you think you will be remembered in future generations? What are you doing to solidify that legacy?
