Rabbi's Message
This Shabbat is known as Shabbat Hagadol. There is no special Torah reading, but we do read a special Haftorah. There is also an age old custom that the rabbi gives a Shabbat Hagadol Derasha. This is usually a Shiur expounding on the Laws of Pesach. This will often include inspirational material for the Seder and entire Chag. Both the special Haftorah and Derasha will share notes of redemption and hope.

In an age of such uncertainty and divisiveness, I think that any hope we can find is more than welcome. The Pesach Seder is an opportunity to converse with those who have different beliefs and outlooks on life, religion and everything else in between. The good news is that there is plenty of room at the table for everyone. You just have to make sure you ask them to come and sit with you.
