Rabbi's Message
This Shabbat we begin reading the first of the four "Special Parshiot" known as "Parshat Shekalim." The first thing that comes to my mind when I hear "Shekalim" is that Purim is coming. If Purim is coming, then that means Pesach is coming. If Pesach is coming, then OY VEY - PESACH IS COMING! Once the panic subsides, the inspiration sets in. We have several weeks to prepare, celebrate, learn and become inspired by our rich tradition and host of customs. I see this as an opportunity, not as a burden. So let's not get bogged down in all the details and technical aspects of our Chagim. Instead, let us take advantage of this time to make sure our Chagim will be the most meaningful ever. There will be many ways right here in Shul that you will be able to achieve this goal. I look forward to seeing you all there.
