2021 Youth Media Award Winners Announced 
















The American Library Association announced the winners of all its awards on January 25, 2021. The winners are: 

Caldecott Medal: We Are Water Protectors illustrated by Michaela Goade 

Newbery Medal: When You Trap a Tiger by Tae Keller 

Printz Award: Everything Sad is Untrue (A True Story) by Daniel Nayeri 

Coretta Scott King Author Book Award: Before the Ever After by Jacqueline Woodson

Author Spotlight: Kekla Magoon  
Many congratulations to Kekla Magoon, winner of the Young Adult Library Services Association’s Margaret A. Edwards Award for lifetime achievement in writing for young adults! Her books include X: A Novel, co-written by Ilyasah Shabazz and published by Candlewick Press; How It Went Down and Light It Up, published by Henry Holt and Co. Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group. Magoon has also written several books for upper elementary and middle schoolers

Virtual Book Club for Teachers
