Registration open for EuroPris Staff Recruitment Workshop

5 & 6 June 2019, Berlin

EuroPris is organising a workshop on the theme "The human resource – attracting, recruiting and keeping prison staff" on 5-6 June, 2019 . The workshop will take place in Berlin, Germany and is kindly hosted by the German Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection.

The workshop is a 1,5 day event starting in the morning on the 5th of June and ending by lunchtime on the 6th of June.

Mixed methods will be used to create an interactive and stimulating exchange of ideas and concepts. The combination of presentations from a variety of European jurisdictions with discussions between the participants and speakers will be presented.

PROGRAM

The exact program is in the making but the presentations on the following topics can already be announced:

  • Dutch challenges in strategic HR management (Netherlands);
  • Making the prison profession attractive (Sweden);
  • Reframing the role of the prison guard (Finland);
  • Prison staff recruitment campaign (Czech Republic);
  • Competences and requirements in prison staff recruiting (Germany);
  • Boosting the long timers (Switzerland);
  • Reducing staff turnover and sickness leave (Germany)
  • New Council of Europe Guidelines on prison staffing (Coe)

REGISTRATION

The workshop is open for public sector prison professionals only with a maximum of two participants per organisation .
