EUROPE, HERE WE COME!

After training Stateside for seven weeks in 11th Hour Racing Team's homeport of Newport, RI, the crew set sail for Europe on Tuesday, October 27. We’re heading back across the Atlantic to Concarneau, France, where our IMOCA 60 will undergo a winter refit before training resumes in early 2021.

Media crew member Amory Ross (USA) sent back his first report from the crossing earlier today:
Brittany, France, was our first choice for a winter base. It’s the heart of the French dominated offshore sailing world and where our new IMOCA 60 is being designed and built by MerConcept, Verdier Designs and CDK Technologies.

Looking ahead to 2021...

With the 2020 sailing season quickly coming to a close, we're already looking forward to the full-on schedule of 2021. In June, our new boat will come out of the shed after 24 months of design and build. We will have a commissioning period and then put everything we have learned to the test with a combination of training and the opportunity to race in European events, including the Rolex Fastnet, the Défi Azimut and the Transat Jacques Vabre.
