Been Visiting Evangel?
If you have been visiting for any length of time, we would love for you to come to our Discover Evangel class to learn more about our church! This is kind of like a membership class, but with no obligation to join (but it is required to join). You will meet ministry leaders each week, learn about our ministries, our history, our denomination, what we believe, and how you can get plugged in to grow in your faith and use the spiritual gifts God has given you to serve Him and His people. We will meet during the Sunday school hour for the five Sundays from September 27th to October 25th. If you would like to attend, please let Connie Reynolds in the church office know.
Sunday School Promotion is September 6th!
Looking for a way to serve?
Because the number of children in our church is increasing, we are in need of starting a new Sunday school class for 2 and 3 year olds. We will start this class on September 6th, and will need new teachers for it.
We would like to have 6 teachers on a rotation, two teaching each week, so teachers will teach just a third of Sundays.
Please consider this opportunity to have a gospel influence on our Evangel covenant children!

Women’s Ministry News!
The Book of James
Join us as we explore how James echoes the teachings of Jesus, especially His Sermon on the Mount. James has often been called the Proverbs of the New Testament because of their similar themes and ideas. Through vivid imagery and the language of nature, James beautifully reminds us that the Old and New Testaments are one unified story.

Romans: Bible Study Fellowship
Romans speaks to our deepest struggles and leads us straight to God’s grace. It offers real hope for real life, reminding believers that the God who saves also transforms us day by day, from the inside out.
Join BSF as we discover how God moves us from striving to surrender, performance to peace, fear to faith, and guilt to grace.

Evangel Ladies’ Book Club
The Evangel Ladies’ Book Club kicks off its fall season on Tuesday, September 8, at 9:30 a.m. at the home of Betty Harris, located at 821 Maplewood Trail in Alabaster.
Our book for discussion is The Boys in the Light by Nina Willner.

MomCo: A Community for Mothers of Preschoolers
Evangel has a Mom Community group just for you! MomCo is currently taking a break for the summer, but our monthly evening meetings will resume on Monday, September 14.
Be on the lookout for more information about the upcoming MomCo year—we can’t wait to gather again!
Oak Mountain Ministries Urgent Needs!
The shelves are low and the needs are high! Due to summer and a lack of food drives, they are in great need of non-perishable food items, especially condiments, jelly, soups, and canned and boxed goods of all kinds. Please bring any items you would like to donate and place in the basket near the church office.
