Above Photo: Saturday morning pastors gathering at MEVAM in Itajaí, SC Brazil.
We were encourage to make the journey to the south of Brazil to the state of Santa Catarina to attend a monthly MEVAM pastor's meeting. We didn't know anyone but went trusting God had a purpose. Through a friend in the states, we arranged to stay with one of the associate pastors from the church. We flew into a different city and drove to the church arriving just as the meeting was getting started. With a full house, we sat in the back. The Holy Spirit spoke to me and said I would be preaching there. I thought that was strange, we hadn't even met anyone from there yet and the meeting had already begun. Little did we know the Lord had plans for this weekend encounter.
These monthly pastor's meetings are known all over Brazil.
It was amazing to see that pastors from almost every state in Brazil were in attendance and also from several South American countries. The senior pastor Luiz Herminio who hosts these meetings monthly is well respected throughout all of Brazil.
After the meeting was over, we went to the home of pastor Jefferson where we were staying for the weekend. They invited us to come to the youth meeting at the church that night and share a whatever God had put in our hearts. The Holy Spirit was moving and touched many of the youth. It's always a blessing to have the opportunity to impart the Word of God into the next generation.
After the youth meeting, were were invited to the mid-night prayer meeting that the church was hosting on that same night. It's focus was to be in prayer for the national elections that were to take place the next day on Sunday. They asked if Débora and I if we would also share a Word during the prayer meeting. The Lord gave us a powerful prophetic word to release over Brazil and for the church at large. The prayer meeting ended at 3am.

The the next day, Sunday, our hosts were preparing a bar-b-que. The senior pastor Luiz Herminio and his wife came over to meet us along with a few other people. We had a great time around the table of fellowship, discussing ministry and the things of God. We shared about the vision of
Sozo Mountain and that on this mountain top acreage, there is an event center on the property that we would like to utilize for leadership conferences. It was a great encouragement to see pastor Luiz's excitement and his affirmation of support for this work. As we were at the table talking, Pastor Herminio said that Débora and I were suppose to preach that night. Wow! Obviously we were so happy to have this gracious opportunity. He said the service was broadcast throughout Brazil and in many countries.

Second altar call. People coming to the front for the equipping work and power of the Holy Spirit in their lives. POWERFUL MOMENT!
What a beautiful evening service we had. God was moving, we declared the Word of Life and we had an amazing time praying with the people.
Later in the week we were in São Paulo, which is several states to the north and the clerk at the hotel desk kept looking at us funny. He said, do I know you? We said, no we have never stayed here before. A few moments went by and he said,
"I KNOW, I watched you preach online at MEVAM, Pastor Luiz's church, it was awesome!"
Débora and I were so surprised. He even told us what we preached about. When the Lord said to us we would preach there at MEVAM that weekend, we could not have fully understood all the He was doing. When it was all said and done, we ministered 3 times, after just going by faith and believing God had something in store.
We are in Brazil to serve the body of Christ. To be able to connect and partner with such amazing ministries and men and women of God is truly a work of the Holy Spirit. We look forward to the future and what the Lord in doing in Brazil with the MEVAM ministry.

Morning Message Preached: "
Manifesting the Promise"
7 People gave their lives to Jesus in this service
Above Photo: Morning Service at Communidade de Vinhedo Church
Vinhedo is a small town and it was a 9am service. Honestly, I did not have great expectations in terms of an early morning turnout. To my surprise the house was full!
From the moment worship began a beautiful atmosphere of the Presence of God filled the room. Expectation was high and an electric anticipation was stirring the place.

Evening Service Message Preached: Wake-Up and Arise!
6 people gave their lives to Christ in this service.
Above Photo: The atmosphere of God's Glory carried over into the evening service. Even before the preaching of the Word, an altar call was given and the people came forward with such a sense of a desire and passion for more.
Above Photo: The Lord was moving so powerfully! This was the
altar call before the Word of God was ever preached. It was a time of soaking in the Presence and being in a place to receive from the Holy Spirit. A picture truly does not convey the atmosphere and the depth of what was happening in the hearts and lives of those present. It was a moment that was truly electric and so powerfully full of the Glory of God.
Above Two Photos: Evening Service Altar Call for salvation.
6 people gave their lives to Christ. Precious!!!
The Lord works differently every time. In these services the Lord was drawing and calling people to intimacy. We didn't have a time of prayer for the sick and afflicted. The greatest miracle of all is salvation and to be right with God. Certainly we saw these great miracles in these two services multiplied in 100's of lives and families.

Above Photo: At a city funded children's home in Campos do Jordan, SP Brazil.
We had to make the journey to Campos do Jordão to pick up some paperwork for the Sozo Mountain Children's Home Project. While in town, one of the city council woman wanted us to take a moment and visit two children's homes run by the city. The only two in town. One for younger and the other for older kids. We took some pictures but cannot show the faces of the children for privacy reasons.
Visiting these two homes was impromptu and unscheduled. The council women said the law states a judges permission is needed for a visitor to go to the homes. She made an exception because it was us and she wanted to get us in immediately since we only had a few hours time while in town. A few other city officials accompanied the visits.
The first home (photo above), was a home for younger children. This home had 13 children living full-time.These kids had so much energy and were jumping and climbing on us like we were long lost family. The love and attention they absorbed from us was beautiful.
Our daughter Giovanna was visiting us in Brazil for a month and how the children just gravitated toward her.The city officials and house parents were in awe at how the kids interacted and the connection that was there. We sat all the children down and shared a story with them about the how important they are. It was hard to walk away knowing the difficulty many of these kids have faced.
-------
The second home we visited was for teenagers. I believe about 15 teenagers, live in this home. This was a tough group, but soon enough they had warmed up to us. We got to spend about 30 minutes in the living room with them as Débora and I shared for a few minutes about our lives. Many of the girls were in tears as we shared about how Deborá and I met. We then shared about God's love, purpose and great plan for their lives and to have hope despite what things may look like now. We talked about value and purpose using a ONE dollar bill as an example, we showed them that it could be spent and wasted or invested. With the right choices, one dollar could be turned into a million. Our lives are like that, if nurtured and invested properly, our lives could become useful and do great things in this world.
There was 17 year old boy sitting next to me (Mike). The house parents told us he had not smiled or laughed the whole time he had been living at the house. Not even the psychologist have been able to get a breakthrough with him. He rarely spoke and was deeply depressed. We tried to make small talk with him in the beginning but it was not going anywhere. After we had our time of sharing with the group, I personally gave him the dollar bill that I used as an example. His face lit up like a Christmas tree. As I hugged him I spoke the Word of life over him.
A couple of days later the council woman sent Débora a message and said that she had heard from the house parents from the home of the older children. They said, they couldn't understand it, the 17 year old boy had not stopped talking. WOW! Thank you Jesus!

As the end of the year approaches please keep the Mission's work in Brazil in mind as you consider year-end giving. It's been a busy year and the mission costs in Brazil this year have greatly exceeded donations.
Your generosity keeps the ministry going and moving forward. Thank you for all you love, prayers and support.

Again, time just flew by and here we are almost at the end of 2018. Crazy! The time we spent with Gigi in Brazil during September/October was such a treat for us! We we able to squeeze in a little bit of fun in between ministry trips and some much needed dental care. We were able to spend my birthday together and she even found her wedding dress while visiting a bridal shop there! It was extremely expensive in Brazil, but she found the same dress, her size, 30 minutes away from where she lives in California, and at an amazing price.
Another total God thing!
We also added a new furry member to our family... Arthur. he is so cute and such a good little dog. With all the traveling it seems a little crazy to get a pet, but Brazil is very dog friendly, we do have friends that can also keep him for us when we need it, and he is so small that when we fly he goes in a carrier right under my seat. We've always had dogs and both Mike and I were really missing having one around. This little guy has definitely brought a little more fun to our home (especially when we're in Brazil missing everyone).
God continues to open doors and completely amazes us with all that He is doing. It is so wonderful to be able to see His hand at work especially as we take steps of faith, not having any idea of how things will work out, but we just do it because we feel led to. From visiting a children's home, to preaching at a small and large churches, to opening our home to friends, or sharing our hearts at an informal meeting... God can use it all and do so much! I love how different 'ministry' looks from place to place. He can meet every need, understand every issue, and be personal to each individual.
He is so good!
As we get ready to prepare for being grandparents... WHOO HOO... and get ready for all the Holiday Season festivities, I want to make sure that I'm living from a place of gratitude and Thanksgiving. Being grateful can absolutely change how you live and how you do everything. I want to always be a thankful person.
Thank you guys again so much for all the prayers and all of the support. Mike and I really appreciate it!
Much love,
Débora

Above Photo: From the Sunday night service we preached at Communidade church in Vinhedo.
God has revealed himself to mankind through the nature and life of His Son Jesus Christ.
The Bible says that one day God will judge all men for their lives of earth, everyone (even those who rejected God on earth) will kneel before His Glory and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord.
It's amazing that God never forces anyone in this life to love Him or to live for Him. Salvation is a FREE gift for those who choose to receive it.
Wherever we minister here in Brazil, the most beautiful moment is that moment where the repentant heart bows and surrenders their will and life to the love and purposes of God the Father. Opening their hearts to acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
When people in Brazil ask, why have you come to our country?, the answer is simple, "to share the Good News of Salvation, that people would come to faith in Jesus Christ, being eternally born again."
Thank you for standing with us on the mission field! Your support allows us to be here doing what we are doing, to bring the Word and Power of the Gospel to the lost.
