A number of roofing materials manufacturers have raised their prices by as much as 10 per cent in the past month. Customers should be aware of this when budgeting for their roof installation or repairs. Always be sure to ask for a quote shortly before making the decision to purchase services, as prices may change quickly.

OSHA cites construction company for several violations

A construction company based out of Tampa, FL has been cited by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for four willful, one repeat and two serious safety violations.

During their visit to four different work sites throughout Florida, OSHA inspectors had observed workers performing residential construction without fall-protection systems. Proposed penalties total just under 230 thousand dollars.

When choosing your construction service provider, always ensure that they put safety first and are in full compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations.

While repairing minor damage to the roof may cost as little as $200, a complete re-roof will usually cost no less than $4,000 and can cost much more, depending on the house. Getting repairs done sooner rather than later is thus always a good idea, as what starts out as minor roof sagging or a shingling issue, given adverse weather conditions, can quickly become a major structural concern leading to significant water damage and unsafe living conditions.
