Evans Roofing likes the competition!

This past weekend Evans Roofing kicked it up a notch in Miami, FL to participate in the 5v5 2019 Soccer Tournament hosted by The French-American Chamber of Commerce.

This is the 5th consecutive year that Evans Roofing has participated in the tournament.

Talk about a challenge! We made it to the finals in game four trailing (5-3).

Owner Thierry Devove said

Well get them next year, its always fun to come together as a team and play our heart out. The team and I look forward to the annual soccer tournament.

Pros and Cons of TPO Roofing System

TPO stands for thermoplastic polyolefin, a single-ply roofing membrane that covers the surface of the roof. However, the name is misleading considering TPO is one of a few different types of rubber, which usually consists of a blend of polypropylene and ethylene-propylene rubber. Pros: TPO is one of the cheapest materials on the market today, costing less than EPDM or other types of rolled rubber roofing. Its color is white on top, which can help to reflect the sun's light and stop heat buildup within the building. TPO resists corrosion and break down upon contact with numerous materials. It also doesn't promote mildew or algae growth and doesn't require pressure washing. Cons: Different manufacturers of TPO products can make wildly different products. This means that you may get a good quality from one roof from one manufacturer, but for the same price you can find one that is very poorly constructed from another. Some buyers may mistakenly believe that the thicker materials are better quality. Such is not the case as thickness has little to do with durability and they all wear out at about the same rate. The rolls that TPO is available in are relatively small, width-wise. So while you may purchase a hundred feet of material, you are likely to have seams every 6-8 feet.

Strange architecture around the world

Cité A Docks is a creative student housing project, located in Le Havre, France from Cattani Architects. The amazing thing about it is that 100 new student dorm rooms were created by transforming old shipping containers into a four-story building. Each apartment has 24 square meters and includes a bathroom and a kitchen, which is just about everything a student could need. This new living style is trend is taking stride and many new projects are being developed. By saving space, and utilizing resources already available, the shipping containers are a practice solution to modern housing needs.
