We have already started our notorious Atlantic Hurricane Season and we hope you will be prepared for it. The official start was on June 1st and will last until November 30th. Although most storms hit between August and October, its better to not wait to prepare your roof until then. Here are a few things to keep in mind: 1. Trim your trees If you have any trees near you house, get them trimmed. Not only can trees fall on your roof, they can also cause a lot of debris to build up on your roof, especially in the valleys. Build up of debris can cause the roofing structure to rot. 2. Clean your gutters Any built up of leaves and branches could clogged your gutters. Gutter Blockage causes water to back up under the shingles. Remove build-up by hose or by hand. 3. Repair your small leaks During a hurricane, you small leaks will grow and become a problem. Get your leaks fixes as soon as possible. Dont wait until they get worse! |
