Even Productivity Needs a Break. Here's Why.

Wow! We made it to August! How are you doing?

There's something wonderfully centering about summer. Yes, it can be busy, messy and exhausting. But it is also a time to give ourselves a pass on absolute productivity. A time to refill the mental and emotional gas tank. Of course organization and productivity are important - as organizers, it's our job to focus on those things. But balance is also important. After all, clearing brain space is critical for future focus and productivity. Call it a decluttering of the mind.

I'd love to hear what you are doing to create a bit of breathing room for yourself this summer. Whether it's getting outside and digging in the dirt, playing on the floor with your kids, looking for some new ways to have fun or getting out into nature on your own, I hope you are able to do it. Your future self will thank you.

Here at OrgNW headquarters, we've been focused on spending time outside in the garden, helping our lovely clients to get organized, and trying to take life one day at a time. With moving season in full swing, we've been helping lots of people pack and unpack in their new homes. We've got a full article on how to have an organized move during a pandemic below, check it out for some great tips!

For us, helping folks get organized is one of the ways we stay centered. We are built to be helpers, and it's what gives us the most satisfaction in work and life. If you know someone who could use some organizing support, we sure would appreciate a referral or a gift certificate.

Stay well, safe and summery.
