“Be strong, take heart and wait for the Lord.” — Psalm 27:14
There are seasons in our spiritual walk when heaven feels quiet. We pray, we plead, we seek—and yet, no answer seems to come. In these moments, doubt creeps in. Has God turned away? Is He listening at all?
But silence is not absence. In Scripture, we see countless examples of God working behind the scenes during long pauses—Joseph in prison, David in exile, Jesus in the tomb. Silence often precedes revelation.
This poem reminds us that God’s silence is not neglect. It’s preparation. It’s protection. It’s divine timing. When we feel unheard, we are still heard. When we feel unseen, we are still seen. And when we feel forgotten, we are still loved.
Even When He’s Silent
Does God seem silent when you pray?
Does He feel a million miles away?
Does it seem that when you call,
He doesn’t hear your voice at all?
And when you seek to know His will—
To step ahead or just be still—
Though you’ve prayed with all your might,
Does the Father still feel out of sight?
God is concerned with all your cares.
He hears your deep and earnest prayers
And He has not forgotten you,
To guide you gently in what to do.
Just trust His timing and trust His Word
He hears your cries; your prayers are heard.
And no matter how long it seems to take,
There’s a holy purpose for the wait.

What is one area of your life where God feels silent right now—and how might He be inviting you to trust Him more deeply in that space?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, when Your voice feels distant and Your answers delayed, help me to trust that You are still near. Teach me to wait with hope, to pray with faith, and to rest in Your perfect timing.
