"The friends all make birthday soup together.”
Laurie Book Review Little Bear cropped.jpg

Laurie Laudenslager, Librarian I, recommends Little Bear written by Else Holmelund Minarik and illustrated by Maurice Sendak.

I first read this book as a little girl and now my daughter has a copy.

There are four short stories about Little Bear’s adventures, from playing in the snow to his birthday party with friends: Hen, Duck, and Cat.

In the former, the friends all make birthday soup together. In the subsequent story they go to the moon. The last story in the series about about little bear’s wishes.

Book Beat: Student Book Review

Book Potter Goblet.jpg

Hi , I am Allen. I'm in the 7th grade. My favorite book series is Harry Potter closely followed by Harry Potter. I enjoy hunting, fishing, skiing, football, and golf.

For my Book Beat review, I read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the fourth of seven books in the Harry Potter series (Do NOT read this book until you have read books 1,2,3).

In this book, we get to experience what the wizarding sport Quidditch is really like. I love the detail that Rowling puts into the campground and what the wizard tents are like.

As the students arrive at school, we find Harry in a very sticky situation when his name unexpectedly comes out of the Goblet of Fire. . .
