Description: R-CALF USA Field Director Karina Jones will be a part of the South Dakota Women in Agriculture (SDWIA) Conference. The conference is Thursday, Oct. 7 and Friday, Oct. 8, at The Lodge, in Deadwood, South Dakota. Jones is a part of a panel discussion titled, “Outlooks on the Cattle Industry,” at 8:15 a.m. Friday.
SDWIA’s mission is to educate women who are making a difference in rural America. They focus not only on agricultural topics, but also on providing networking opportunities and personal development. Women from South Dakota and surrounding states are invited to attend the conference. Registration is $55 for one day (Thursday or Friday) or $105 for both days and can be found along with an agenda at www.southdakotawomeninag.com/conference.
R-CALF USA is a one-member/one-vote organization. Voting members must own cattle. Associate members support the cause and do not own cattle. Activities carried out by R-CALF USA for the benefit of the U.S. cattle industry are funded exclusively by the independent cattle producers who pay their membership dues and by cattle producers, main-street businesses, and other individuals who participate in and contribute to fundraising events.
R-CALF USA works on various issues that affect the continued profitability and viability of independent U.S. cattle producers, such as mandatory country-of-origin labeling, checkoff reform, livestock price reporting, animal health concerns, captive supplies and packer ownership of livestock, as well as various trade agreements.
