Western Technical College
Western’s regional locations are reaching out to our respective communities to gauge interest in some potential program opportunities in our areas for the upcoming summer and fall terms.

There are two different areas that we are looking at offering; first is a 2 course (4 credit) 3D Design and Prototyping certificate. This certificate program is an introduction to 3D modeling and rapid prototyping. Utilizing Solid Works, you will create 3D parts and assemblies which can later be printed using manufacturing processes on our 3D printers. Learn how to create models, set up a 3D printer and connect it to Wi-Fi, troubleshoot the system, and prepare the model for printing.

The second offering is an Intro to Industrial Robotics course (2 credits). In this course, learners are introduced to programming techniques for industrial robots. The learner examines each pendant programming including I/O, routines, decision making, six frames of positional operation, and robot communication. Upon completion of the course, learners will be able to operate and program industrial robots commonly used in Industry 4.0.

If f you have employees that could benefit from these offerings or have interest in participating, please email SavageL@westerntc.edu. Please include which one you are interested in or both.
