Annual General Meeting - June 19, 2019
The Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce's Annual General Meeting will be anything but “the same old, same old.” Of course we need to conduct a formal AGM, present our financials (a very good turn-around year), elect officers and our Board, and give you a glimpse of ACC's 2019-2020 business plan and exciting event schedule - the continuation of the Indigenous Leadership series, with some twists!  We have an "out-of-the-box venue, with an out-of-the-box guest presentation."

June 19th, 2019 | 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Park Theatre | 698 Osborne St.

ACC By-Law Update from Brian Kelly
The process of ACC revising its bylaws has taken a major step forward with approval at the Special General Members Meeting held May 1, 2019.
The about to be ‘old’ bylaws have a number of deficiencies. Rather than trying to keep the existing bylaws and make extensive revisions to them, it was found that it was much easier and clearer to develop a full new text of modern bylaws that meet ACC’s needs; that still kept all the prior basic intent.

These bylaws underwent a significant development process. A legal review ensured compliance with the requirements of the Federal Government’s ‘Boards of Trade Act’ under which ACC is incorporated. Drawing on the best practises of a number of recent bylaw updates by chambers of commerce, a new version of the bylaws was approved by ACC’s Board of Directors on February 27, 2019.
A Special General Members Meeting on May 1, 2019 provided the opportunity for all ACC Members to vote on these new bylaws. Unanimous approval shows the support for these improvements.
On May 1, ACC applied to Corporations Canada for their approval of the new bylaws on behalf of the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development. When they approve, and only then, do the new bylaws take effect.

A status report will be provided at ACC Annual General Meeting on June 19, 2019.
