Crying Uncle - Acoustic Music

On Saturday, October 25th, Front Porch Music presents Crying Uncle Bluegrass Band, known for their acoustic mix of bluegrass, Dawg (David Grisman music), jazz, and modern originals.

Art Gallery at the Orinda Library: For the Love of Art

Virtual Wilder: Doug Heine Sculptures Stand the Test of Time

View 20 original sculptures by Doug Heine of Berkeley. Heine’s 250 lb. “Ribbons” abstract steel public art was just installed within West Commons Park in Moraga. Heine, previously from UC Berkeley, experiments using different metals and other materials to create his one-of-a-kind sculptures.

Art Embraces Words Halloween Program, Costume/Cosplay Contest

Appear as your favorite literary or artistic character to compete for prizes in our Cosplay/Costume Contest as part of the free Art Embraces Words Halloween Program. It includes writers Marlene Dotterer, AnneMarie Mazotti Gouveia, Sharanya Roy and artists Angelina Triana and Kaleo Ching, who will be presenting their work at the Lafayette Library in the Arts + Science Room on October 25 from 2–3:30pm.

Sound, Sense & Soul Experience

Join Bay Area musicians Shaina Violinista and Katy Stephan (Air Craft) with meditation teacher Cari Jacobs Crovetto for a transformative two-part journey through sound, senses, and soul. This immersive experience blends music, meditation, and sensory exploration to deepen your awareness and connection to life’s meaning.

Sweet Thursday Talks: Homelessness with Author Kevin Fagan

Kevin Fagan’s The Lost and the Found takes an empathic and humane approach to explaining what’s behind the homelessness epidemic in one of the most prosperous cities in America – San Francisco. Fagan, a Pulitzer Prize finalist and San Francisco Chronicle reporter, has covered homelessness for thirty years and experienced it himself.
