The first of its kind at Shadelands, the event focused on colorectal cancer prevention and screening in a big, experiential way. | | Coming Alongside Clients Toward Better Mental Health | | Patty Shirley is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, as well as a Registered Addiction Specialist and Certified Clinical Trauma Counselor. Hers has been a personal journey, having entered the field of addiction in 2005 after experiencing addiction chaos around her and feeling the impact of the addiction of family and friends on her own life. “Unfortunately, I know addiction and issues of mental health more than I’d like to," said Patty. "My personal experiences have led me to this [work] and that's why I am so passionate about coming alongside others.” | |

| County Connection #7, the Shadelands free shuttle, is a familiar and welcome mass transit resource, transporting passengers in and around Shadelands and between Pleasant Hill BART and Shadelands every 20 minutes during morning and afternoon commutes. For the convenience of clients, customers, employees, and visitors, Shadelands Walnut Creek has created a miniature, "fun size" cardboard bus with a slot for schedules designed for displaying on counter tops and credenzas in lobbies and offices. | |
