MBPA BIZ BUZZ - SEPT. 9TH
Middleburg Business & Professional Association's Biz Buzz - Tuesday, September 9th at Foxcroft School - Head of School's House - Covert - stop at the gate to get directions!

A challenge has been made to those attending the Biz Buzz on Tuesday, September 9th by the MBPA Board Members.

Most of you have heard that Middleburg's Chief of Police AJ's wife has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.  An account has been opened at Middleburg Bank in the name of Chief AJ's Fund, where donations are being accepted to help defray costs related to Amy's medical treatments, or anything that they may need.

The MBPA Board is offering a challenge to the members and guests that attend the Biz Buzz on the 9th of September to match their monetary gifts of either cash or checks for Chief AJ's Fund.

All gifts of money, no matter what size are greatly appreciate.

Just think if 50 members and guests attend, each person donates $10, that would be $500.  The Board will match that $500. That would be a total of $1000 in the account for AJ & Amy!!

Joann Hazard will have a basket for donations at the Biz Buzz!

Thank you in advance for accepting this challenge!!

We would also like to say we know miracles happen, your thoughts and prayers are also needed!  We would like to see one of those miracles happen for Amy to heal her body, making her free of cancer and able to enjoy life for many years to come!

Sincerely,

Your MPBA Board Members:

Punkin Lee, President

Ken Reid, Vice President

Mimi Stein, Treasurer, Secretary

Genie Ford

Joann Hazard

Jane Motion

Cindy Pearson, Ex-officio

Students from the Town of Middleburg and surrounding area went to Simpson Middle School and Loudoun County High School in Leesburg until just a few years ago.

Loudoun County High School is having the inaugural LCHS Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony at 5 pm tonight in the school's auditorium.

The 2014 Hall of Fame class has three local athletes being inducted.

Dulaney Washington, Class of 1975 - Dulaney was a three-time state track champion in the 100-yard, 220-yard and 440-yard dashes.  He was selected to the first team All-District Football team and was a 1000-yard rusher.

Jill Pearson, Class of 1998, earned 12 varsity letters in basketball, volleyball and softball.  She was a four year starter in all three sports.  Today she is the head volleyball coach and teaches PE at Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax.

Blakeley Griffith, Class of 2003 was a three time state singles champion and a member of County's 2003 state champion tennis team.  She was a four-year letter winner at the University of Tennessee.
