YPs and Mentors Networking on Feb. 8 at Pizza Factory

All Chamber members are invited for casual networking with the BACC Young Professionals and Mentors this Thursday, Feb. 8 from 4:30-6:30 pm at Pizza Factory in Barrington. Members pay for their own refreshments. 

This is a FREE event and walk-ins are welcome, but an RSVP is appreciated.
Tickets on Sale for Cocoa Crawl in LB on Feb. 10

Tickets are still available for our first Cocoa Crawl through Pepper Park in Lake Barrington this Saturday, Feb. 10 from 1:00-5:00 pm! Explore the unique boutiques, vintage/antique/resale shops and more while shopping and sipping hot cocoa and enjoying other warm delights.

The cost is $20 per person which includes a Souvenir Mug, Free Treats, Giveaways, Raffle Prizes, Tour Map and more! Check-in begins at 1:00 pm at Greater Chicago Kitchen and Bath, 22000 Pepper Rd., Unit K in Lake Barrington.

Hear first-hand updates from our Village Leaders on the State of the Barrington Region at Barrington's White House, 145 W. Main St. in Barrington. 

This event is open to the public. Cost to attend is $15, which includes pastries, coffee and networking. Premier Sponsor is Northern Trust Bank.

Join BACC for an After Hours Multi-Chamber Networking event with the Lake Zurich Chamber at X-Golf in Kildeer. Mix and mingle with other Chamber members and make new connections. FREE Membership Boot Camp at the Chamber on Feb. 16

Register today for our FREE Boot Camp on Friday, Feb. 16 from 12:00-1:15 pm. Learn how to get the most out of your Chamber membership while networking with other members and enjoying a complimentary lunch at the Chamber office, 190 E. James St. in Barrington.
 
Seating is limited to 15 and priority is given to first-time attendees. Registration is required.
Scramble & Spirits Event on Feb. 21 - Reserve Your Spot

Broaden your network at the BACC Scramble & Spirits event on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at Makray Memorial Golf Club in Barrington. Connect on a higher level when we assign you to sit with a group of new guests for three rounds of networking with focused discussion questions from 4:00-5:30 pm, followed by a chance to connect with everyone else over spirits and appetizers from 5:30-7:00 pm. Fee to attend is $35.

Ladies and gentlemen are invited to join the BACC Women's Biz Net for a Lunch Program and Networking on Thursday, Feb. 29 from 11:30 am-1:00 pm at The Club at Wynstone. Enjoy networking, lunch and a presentation about the latest medical advancements and how you can play a role in your own pelvic health and wellness. Fee to attend is $35 per member and $45 per nonmember, which includes lunch, networking and the presentation. Program sponsor is Travelex International; WBN Premier Sponsor is Northern Trust Bank.
BACC Opening for a Marketing Assistant
 
If you like being involved in the community, attending events and constantly meeting new people, BACC has an opening for a Marketing Assistant. This position will handle all social media, develop and create marketing materials, produce two weekly e-newsletters, visit new businesses and prospect for new members, cover events, update our website, create press releases and BACC promotions. Must be social media savvy, have marketing experience, use Canva, Publisher, Constant Contact and Excel; be able to pitch the chamber and events. Part time hours weekly about 25, some remote possible. BACC Now Accepting Scholarship Applications - Deadline is March 15
 
Applications for the 2024 BACC Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarship are now available. Eligible students must be from the Barrington area, or the student of an employee of a Chamber member business. Scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500 are awarded each spring to local high school students pursuing higher education through a university, community college, or vocational/trade certification program. To be eligible, the application and all supporting documents must be received no later than March 15, 2024. Incomplete applications will be disqualified. Learn About CTA Reporting Requirements to Avoid Civil and Criminal Penalties

The Corporate Transparency Act (“CTA”) went into effect Jan. 1, 2024. Its main goal is to strengthen corporate entity structures and ownership transparency in order to combat money laundering and tax evasion, according to Buckley Fine LLC. All entities formed through any Secretary of State must report ownership details, unless they are exempt. Accurate reporting is critical to avoid potential civil and criminal penalties. FTC Proposes Ban on Restaurant Service Charges

The Federal Trade Commission has proposed a rule that could force restaurant operators of all sizes to rewrite compensation models, increase menu prices, and overhaul established business practices. DCEO and IMEC Launch "Made in Illinois" Grant Program to Boost Manufacturing

Gov. JB Pritzker, the Illinois Dept. of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, and the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center have launched $1 million in funding for the "Made in Illinois" Grant Program. According to the Illinois SBDC at College of Lake County, the program provides up to $50,000 in matching grant funding to small- and mid-sized Illinois manufacturers to support innovation and strategic advancements in manufacturing.
