Picture This: Philly Photo Day 2025

April 7–13, 2025

CRANE ARTS Building

1400 N. American St.

Calling all shutterflies. Take photos anywhere in Philadelphia between April 7 and 13 as part of TILT’s annual Philly Photo Day.  All images submitted will be printed and included in an exhibition opening May 8 through May 31.


Submissions open on April 7 and are free, regardless of experience. Click here for more info and here to submit a photo.

Transit for All Rally

On April 10th, SEPTA is expected to announce a program of deep cuts to services and fare increases that will be necessary if the Governor and the Legislature cannot agree on a formula for funding mass transit throughout the Commonwealth. 



A demonstration is planned for Friday, April 11th .to send a strong message to Harrisburg in favor of full funding. It will kick off in Dilworth Plaza at City Hall @11am. The rally is being coordinated by the Transit For All PA, with the support of most of Philadelphia’s delegation to Harrisburg, as well as numerous businesses, community groups, and labor unions.

Symposium on Law, Ethics, and National Security. Hosted by the Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law at UPenn, this in-person symposium features three panel discussions on key legal and national security issues, including partisan interference in legal processes, presidential powers, and the impact of emerging technologies. Help Paint a New Mural Celebrating Philly’s Film History

Center City District (CCD), with support from Rittenhouse Row and the City of Philadelphia, brings back Open Streets. From Locust to Chestnut and Walnut Street from 15th to 19th, stroll the car-free space while enjoying shopping, dining and activities. There will be entertainment (sidewalk chalk, bubbles, games, and toys), acoustic musicians, dancers, and an appearance by the Easter Bunny on Sunday, April 20. More info can be found here.

Passover Second Night ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ Seder

Join Tribe 12’s matchmakers for a ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ seder experience. Tribe 12 connects people in their 20s/30s to Jewish life and community in Philadelphia today so they will choose to stay connected tomorrow.

Stitching the Past: Samplers and Samplermakers

Discover the hidden history of embroidery. Learn how stitching became more than just a household necessity. Researcher Lydia Wood talks about how embroidery evolved beyond craft and into a tool for girls to learn science, math, and geography.

Planting the Seeds of Resilience: Climate-Proofing Discussion

An Evening of Jazz with the Paul Giess Trio

ArtSmart presents a live jazz performance featuring the Paul Giess Trio, with special guest star John Viscardi. A celebrated tenor, John is acclaimed by critics for his powerful, nuanced and riveting singing and dramatic abilities.


ArtSmart’s mission is to provide tuition-free music lessons to youth in under-resourced communities. Tickets to the performance are $45 and include two drink tickets and hors d’oeuvres. For tickets, go here

Dash for a Cause: The 28th Annual Donor Dash

Join the Gift of Life Donor Program as they host their 28th Annual Donor Dash with a 10K run, 5K run, 3K walk, and virtual participants. This event raises awareness for organ and tissue donations. Join Design Advocacy Group (DAG) for a special event where Angela Brooks, Philadelphia's new Chief Housing & Urban Development Officer, hosts a one-on-one conversation touching on issues related to affordable and accessible housing and community development. Her goal? Creating and preserving 30,000 units of housing in Philadelphia.

The Marian Anderson Historical Society & Museum, located in the Graduate Hospital area, is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the celebrated Philadelphia-born contralto.
