The Duat

June 7-23, 2024

Taking its title from the mythical Egyptian afterlife, The Duat is a psychological portrait of Cornelius Johnson, a FBI counterintelligence officer, in a battle for his very soul. Using spoken word, North African drumming, and gorgeous choreography, this one-person world premiere is a poetic and virtuosic story of redemption.

Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run

May 5, 2024 at 7:30 am

The Broad Street Run, Philadelphia's tradition that has been carried on for over 40 years, will take place on Sunday, May 5. This 10-mile race welcomes athletes, Philadelphians, and residents alike to join or spectate a classic Philly event.

Related Road Closures

The Broad Street Run comes with road closures which begin at 2 a.m. on Sunday, May 5. No parking will be permitted on Broad Street from Olney Ave. to the Navy Yard from 2 a.m. until 12 p.m. Broad Street will also be closed to traffic beginning at 7:45 a.m.

Mother’s Day Kayak and Riverboat Tours

Art Exhibit - Souls Shot Portrait Project at the First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia

Check out the heartbreaking and beautifully sad art exhibits of Souls Shot Portrait Project.


This exhibit allows artists to tell the story of friends and families who had their loved ones taken by gun violence. The exhibit takes place at the First Presbyterian Church (21st & Walnut Streets) May 6–29 with the opening reception on Sunday, May 5 at 12 pm.

Spring Open Studios at BOK

The Spring Open Studios at the BOK Building allow anyone to come visit all the many artists that BOK hosts. Ballet in the Square

Thursday, May 2 at 5:45 pm and 7:15 pm

Join the Philadelphia Ballet and the Friends of Rittenhouse Square for an evening of free performances celebrating Philadelphia's parks. 


Bring a chair, some friends, a snack, and enjoy the magic of the ballet in the center of Rittenhouse Square. In case of rain, the alternative date will be held Friday, 5/3.
