Northwestern University Hosts Clinical Risk Calculators Workshop

Event to be held February 27, RSVP by February 6

The Institute for Innovations in Developmental Sciences and the Center for Epidemiology and Population Health at Northwestern University will hold an international hybrid workshop, Northwestern Transdiagnostic Clinical Risk Calculators as a Critical Tool for Advancing Equitable Precision Medicine: Bridging Mental and Physical Health to Accelerate Translation, on February 27.

Clinical risk calculators integrate key information on individuals to predict risk of future disease and guide clinical care. Bridging risk calculator development and implementation across varied health domains, developmental periods, and at varied stages of progress is key to impact and application. This workshop aims to accelerate translation through sharing insights and innovations across three typically disparate health domains across the lifespan.

Risk calculators are an innovative and promising approach for advancing earlier life identification and prevention and provide robust quantitative and efficient tools that can address implementation barriers in real-world settings, reduce bias, and improve confidence in decision-making. The presenters at the event will address key considerations, limitations, and future directions of risk calculator research and implementation.

The event will be held on February 27 from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. Registrants can attend either in-person at the McGaw Pavilion, Daniel H. Williams Auditorium, 240 E. Huron, Chicago (a reception will follow), or virtual (via Zoom). The registration deadline is February 6

For information about the speakers and how to register, view the event website or flyer. Send questions to Paige Fix.
