Did you attend the 2022 LE Green Jobs Forum last week?

Thanks to all of our speakers and to everyone who attended LE's annual Green Jobs Forum last week. We were delighted with the rich content from our speakers and with the interest and engagement of the audience.

Darrell Beschen, Senior Advisor/Chief Economist with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) presented on the 1000+ jobs being filled by the U.S. DOE Energy Clean Energy Corps (CEC). You can download his PowerPoint slides via LE's Event Archives listing for the 2022 Forum. They provide a primer on green job opportunities and funding with links to the CEC and USAJOBS application portals, as well as information on new Federal legislation including the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act.

In case you missed it, a recording of the Green Jobs Forum - featuring all three panels - is now available for sale!  If you would like to purchase it (for the same affordable event price options of $12, $17, or $27), contact us at: info@leadersinenergy.org

Zero Waste: Building a Better Community

October 11, 2022

This is the first event of a three-part series called "Zero Waste: Building a Better Community." The series will take a deep dive into the environmental benefits and economic opportunities of a zero waste, circular economy. Learn about actions that you or your business can take to support a zero-waste economy in your local community. The event is free to attend.

The October 11th webinar (7:00 - 8:30 pm EDT) is "Building a Circular Economy: Breaking the Produce-Consume-Dispose Paradigm." Transforming to a zero waste community hinges on rethinking how and where we produce, use, and reuse materials and goods. This program will explore how products and business practices can be redesigned to reduce impact on the environment, promote durability and reuse, and ultimately be recycled into new products for a more resilient community.

You can also plan ahead for the next two "Zero Waste: Building a Better Community" events in the coming months:

  •  "Beyond Recycling: Reduce, Reuse, Repair" - November 29
  •  "Reimagining Our Waste Management Systems" - January 17
