Lenten Annual Appeal

In Case You Missed It: Lenten Annual Appeal Now Underway

On Ash Wednesday we officially launched our Lenten Annual Appeal, Orange You Committed? 🍊

Thank you to the many families who have already participated. Because of your generosity, our orange trees are already beginning to grow. Seeing those first oranges appear is a beautiful reminder of what happens when our community comes together in faith and unity.

As we continue our Lenten journey, we invite every Everest family to prayerfully consider participating. Our goal is 100% family participation — not equal gifts, but equal heart. Every gift, no matter the size, is a meaningful sign of unity and support for our mission.

You can follow class participation progress by viewing the tracker — click here or use the gold button below to see how your grade is doing and help move your class forward.

As an added incentive, each homeroom that reaches 100% participation will receive a special Ice Cream Sundae Bar celebration. 🍨

And don’t forget — every family who participates is entered into a raffle to win a vacation to Margaritaville Orlando. 🌴

Thank you for your continued partnership, generosity, and commitment to Everest Academy. Together, we are growing something beautiful.

Message from Principal Hamilton

Dear Everest Parents,

Today, we begin the Holy Triduum, the time of the church year when we celebrate the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Yesterday, we were beautifully prepared for this journey by our 8th-grade Class of 2026, who led us in a deeply moving presentation of the Stations of the Cross. Thank you to Mr. Purpura, Mr. Landowski, and Fr. Andrew for guiding our 8th graders in creating such a meaningful moment of prayer for our school community.

This evening, we continue our annual tradition of making a Holy Thursday 7 Church Pilgrimage after the Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion. The bus will board at Everest at 8:45 pm. If you weren’t able to get a seat on the bus, you are still most welcome to join the procession by following the bus in your own car. You can follow along with the prayers and songs using this link.

If you are unfamiliar with the Triduum and would like to learn more about the significance of these days, here is a great article to read and a short 3-minute video to watch.

I also have some important news to share regarding our faculty. Today is Ms. Ashley Palmer’s final day with Everest Academy. We are grateful for the dedication she showed our third-grade students and wish her every blessing in her future endeavors.

I am pleased to announce that Ms. Kristin Walsh will be stepping in as the new third-grade teacher. Many of you already know of her, as she has served for the past few years at Everest as a substitute teacher and tutor. Additionally, we are thrilled that Ms. Walsh will continue in this role as the third-grade teacher for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year. Our priority is ensuring a smooth, joyful transition for our students. We appreciate your continued support during this change.

Lastly, I wanted to let you know that our school leadership team is exploring the possibility of offering homeschool hybrid classes at Everest beginning next year. This program would serve Catholic homeschooling families by providing part-time instruction while students continue their primary education at home. Participants would not be enrolled as full-time Everest students and would participate in separate classes, distinct from our full-time classes.

We see this as one way to further our mission of forming Christian leaders by supporting families in delivering strong, faith-filled education. We are in the early stages of discernment and planning. On April 24th, we will be holding a meeting with interested homeschooling parents (see flyer below). We are also conducting a survey to gather information to help guide our planning. We will be sharing more details in the months ahead.

May God fill us with His grace as we enter more deeply into these sacred days, drawing us into a deeper love of Christ in His Passion and a renewed hope in His Resurrection.

Rejoicing in gratitude for God's blessings,

Candy Hamilton
