Message from Principal Hamilton

Dear Everest Parents,

By the end of the week, we expect to complete MAP make-up testing for our K-8 students. Next week, you will receive your child’s MAP score. Because the make-up process has taken nearly two weeks, beginning with the winter testing session, students who are absent (excused or unexcused) will be asked to make up their tests either before school (7:00am) or on a Saturday morning. This will help ensure that valuable instructional time is not lost.

Also next week, you will receive a link from your child’s teacher to sign up for mandatory Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 8th. As we shared during orientation, these conferences are an important opportunity for parents and teachers to partner together for each child’s success.

Special Note for Middle School Parents: Middle school students are required to attend their conference with their parents.

  • Registration will be open for parents to sign up with their homeroom teacher until Friday, October 3rd. (6th grade: Mrs. Abramic; 7th grade: Mrs. Kmetty; 8th grade: Mr. Purpura)
  • After October 3rd, registration will be open for parents to sign up with the middle school teachers for subject conferences.

Please note the following special events happening next week:

  • Math Meeting - Thank you to those who attended the meeting about the enVision Math program. I am hosting another meeting next Monday, September 29, 3:30-4:30 pm. If you have specific questions or concerns that you would like addressed, please complete this form.
  • Blessing of Pets - On Friday, October 3rd, in anticipation of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, Fr. Andrew will bless pets during the afternoon car line. To make it easier for our chaplain while he is in crutches, please pull up to the Grotto where he will be stationed. You may “drive through” or park and come to the Grotto.
  • HarvestFest - All families are welcome to attend our annual family fun event. See below for details.

This week, we have been focused on the virtue of Service as a way to grow in the virtue of the month, Humility. How fitting that this Saturday we celebrate the feast day of St. Vincent de Paul! May his words inspire us to live with humility and generosity in our daily lives: “I will always welcome joyfully any opportunity that comes my way to be of service to you.”

Have a blessed weekend!

Rejoicing in gratitude for God's blessings,

Candy Hamilton

Principal
