The Importance of Giving Back!
Events that happen throughout the year in our community are only possible because area businesses are willing to be “Title Sponsors” and underwrite the cost to hold the event.
With prices rising for the food at the events, the entertainment, the cost to rent the facility, the cost for photographers or running an ad for the event, having a title sponsor only continues to grow in importance. At the Chamber we are lucky to have some amazing business partners who value their place in our community and who are willing to foot the bill to help ensure these events happen.
One such sponsor we work with is Caldwell Insurance Agency – American Family Insurance. Owner, Bryan Caldwell often partners with the Evergreen Chamber, as well as other area nonprofits, to help cover the costs of events. I’ve asked him to write a bit about why he does this. Here are Bryan Caldwell’s words….
"When the ideas and dreams of an individual and the benevolence of a company come together, great things can happen. I opened my agency a little over four years ago, the Caldwell Insurance Agency, Inc with American Family Insurance because our philosophies, values and visions aligned in every way. I knew this could only mean great things. American Family’s giving back philosophy was one of the many reasons American Family Insurance was my first choice and I hung the flag above my office.
As I developed my own mission and vision, one of my four pillars of importance is community. Six months after opening my office, I joined the Evergreen Chamber. It was clear to me that our business values also aligned with The Chamber’s mission to help grow the local business community. We quickly got involved with events like Skate the Lake, Sparkle and Shine Evergreen Business awards, Holiday Ice Sculptures, Santa Breakfast, and many more great events.
These events not only benefit the community as an activity, but fund scholarships, charitable giving, and help bring visitors and tourists to the area to explore everything our great town has.
Businesses are a part of the communities they reside in. As a business owner, I feel it is important to engage in philanthropic pursuits that can reap new and long-term benefits for our great community of Evergreen. A perfect example of this is the inaugural event, “Chill Out Festival” which took place on February 4th. Chill out highlighted a number of great assets like our local restaurants, our beautiful lake & lake house and will grow beyond that in the years to come.
It’s a simple “growing to give, giving to grow” philosophy for us. As Winston Churchill said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”. I have gained so much personally and professionally from our involvement. This is just one of many ways we can say THANK YOU to our great community and customers for welcoming us into Evergreen four years ago and hopefully for many more years to come!"

Ice Melt Kick Off
Since the 2006/2007 season, Mountain Foothills Rotary in Evergreen has been holding the Ice Melt event on Evergreen Lake to benefit the Evergreen Parks & Recreation Department INSPIRE - Special Needs Program and Evergreen Christian Outreach (EChO) with a small amount going to our Club Foundation. Over the years the Ice Melt fundraiser has raised thousands of dollars for the community at large.

Evergreen Lake North Trail Project |
|
|
|
The Evergreen Lake North Trail Project was created in response to the Spring 2016 closure of the trail along State Highway 74 on the north side of Evergreen Lake between Upper Bear Creek Road and Evergreen Dam. The trail system is located on property owned by the City and County of Denver (CCD) and managed by the Evergreen Park & Recreation District (EPRD). The project's goal is to work with the community, stakeholders, and funders to develop a long-term solution for the Evergreen Lake North Trail to improve safety, accessibility, and connectivity in our community. Improvements to this trail segment were recommended by the 2015 Evergreen Trails Master Plan.
Project Progress:
Update 2-2023: After competitive bidding, the construction project has been awarded to ESCO Construction Company of Evergreen, Colorado. The project schedule will be defined in the coming weeks. Check back here soon for updates!
