RIPPLE EFFECT

Every Penny, Every Dollar... As we near our 10th Anniversary, I've found myself increasingly nostalgic about where we started, the lives impacted and where our next chapter takes us. I'm proud to share with you that since our inception, we have committed over $3.1M to building a stronger community. No one person or business made that happen. Instead, it was done penny by penny, dollar by dollar by YOU. That penny by penny and dollar by dollar is exponentially impacting lives beyond our projects. THAT is what we call the Ripple Effect. Ripple Effect /ˈripəl əˌfekt/ (noun) - the continuing and spreading results of an event or action. Now that we have a few years (and then some) under our belt, we are hearing of more and more lives being changed, years later, two and three times removed from a project. This giving season, we plan to share these with you and hope you find joy in their successes. We would not be here without you and we are grateful to your giving hearts. Cheers, Becky

PROJECT UPDATES

Camino Scholars at People's Self-Help Housing When she first came to Camino Scholars, Avery was behind in reading, a bit shy and kept to herself. Once mentors learned she wanted to be a teacher, she began helping younger kids with their work, which increased performance on her own work.  Thank YOU for making this happen - It's Good to Give! We have $100,000 left to fundraise on this project. Donate ONLINE.. Tom Maas Boys and Girls Club NEW Building in Paso Robles This state-of-the-art building will provide 250 deserving youth a place to go after school and during the summer months. A place to feel safe, connected and a place to belong. Slated to open Summer/Fall 2022. Thank YOU for making this happen -the project is fully funded thanks to the Raise the Paddle event at PURPOSE. COVID Community Response Project Thankfully, we are seeing a reprieve from families impacted by COVID. What started as a response to the pandemic, a desire fueled by our community's need to take care of one another kept over 160 people housed! In the last year, $260,000 was disbursed to keep families in their homes, safe and well fed. YOU made this happen! The project will remain active until it is no longer needed. Learn more HERE. For the last year, they have been tirelessly digging into social issue ranging from mental health to food insecurity to youth mentorship to equity gaps to health care. BECAUSE OF YOU: BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB

At the Paso Robles Boys and Girls Club, girls in the SMART program (Skills Mastery and Resistance Training) prepared charcuterie boards for staff members.  Have you heard of SMART? It is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program with dynamic sessions, highly participatory activities, field trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women. Programs like these are made possible by YOU.
