Dear Friend

At 67, Arthur was trapped in a small Anaheim apartment, entirely isolated and fighting a quiet, grueling 20-year battle with diabetes, high blood pressure, and failing health. Feeling completely invisible and lacking transportation, his life changed when a neighbor connected him with Council on Aging's ReConnect Program.

Instead of just handing him a list of phone numbers, his case manager became a true partner, building a roadmap that completely transformed his life in just 11 months. ReConnect resolved his isolation by plugging him into support groups and water aerobics, restored his independence through specialized Access transportation, and partnered with OC One Stop to help him re-enter the workforce as a proud, part-time security guard.

Arthur went from empty, silent days to a life filled with purpose, health, and dignity. His second act was made possible through the generosity of community.

As we approach the end of our campaign, your support is urgently needed so we can protect more isolated seniors from despair. Please consider making a gift today to provide a vital lifeline that helps the next isolated senior reclaim their health, independence, and purpose.

Double Your Impact Today

An anonymous donor has pledged to match every gift made to our new Empowerment Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000.

A gift to Council on Aging - Southern California today effectively doubles your impact. Your $50 becomes $100; your $250 becomes $500. There is no better return on investment than ensuring our seniors live with the dignity they deserve.

Navigating the "Longevity Revolution"

The need for your support has never been more urgent. As we currently live through a “Longevity Revolution," life expectancy has jumped from 62 years to nearly 80, today. In Orange County alone, the number of seniors will reach nearly 700,000 by 2030.

While living longer is a triumph, how we live those extra years matters most.

This is where YOU make a difference: Through our Empowerment Fund, your generosity helps individuals maximize the second half of life. By supporting innovative programming, education, and advocacy, you are helping us reimagine the process of aging and serve more older adults - focusing not just on living longer but living better.

A Legacy of Care

Since our founding in 1973, COASC has grown from a small, passionate effort into a vital lifeline for our community. This remarkable impact - from preventing financial abuse to advocating for residents in long-term care to providing mental health support - has only been possible because of supporters like you.

As we stand on the brink of transformative change in how we experience aging, your investment allows us to implement new ideas and embrace emerging technologies that support active, fulfilling lives well beyond traditional retirement.

Will You Join Us in Shaping the Future?

Your investment powers every milestone and every life we touch. Simply put, our work exists because of you. If you have any questions about how your gift makes a difference, our Chief Development Officer, Juliana Goswick, is always available to help atJGoswick@coasc.org.

Thank you for being a part of our mission and for believing in a future where every older adult has the resources they need to thrive.

With continued gratitude,

Lisa Wright Jenkins
