Every human life is valuable, has dignity, and deserves protection and due process. This has motivated our fight against abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia since we were founded in 1970.
Our dedication to human dignity leads us to grieve for the unjust taking of any human life, and that includes the unjust murders of George Floyd and others. We pray for his family, encourage peace amidst the unrest that has followed that tragedy, and hope a future without the scourge of racism.
Every day in America, legal abortion continues to destroy thousands of human lives. We have spoken out strongly for years against the high rate of abortion in the black community.
In
The Advocate
on June 3
, Dr. Kathy Allen, State Director for Louisiana Black Advocates for Life, said,
"In Louisiana, 60 percent of all abortions involve black women, and we only make up 30 percent of the population. Historically that's higher than any other group. We've been targeted."
A fundamental respect for human life, both unborn and born, is desperately needed in America. We hope for a day when there is no more violence against any human life. Only then can we build a civilization of love and justice for all.
For a Pro-Life Louisiana,
