Spring has sprung; Summer has begun!

Sister's Health Foundation Program Officer Shei Sanchez, Associate Director Marian Clowes, and Executive Director Renee Steffen with Serenity Grove ED Betsy Anderson. Our new kitchen has plenty of elbow room now, and as our community style dinners continue to grow, the expanded kitchen space is especially welcomed.

We asked and you gave! How grateful we are for the generous response to our annual fundraising effort! Every dollar is put to good use, and we are thrilled to be close to the finish line with our state-approved expansion and renovation project. We are so appreciative of the financial support from Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services (OHMHAS), the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation of Nelsonville, our dedicated 317 Board, Sisters Health Foundation, the Athens County Foundation, and Christ Lutheran Church. Heartfelt thanks are due to VSWC Architects (Trent DeBruin), Hoon, Inc. Design Builders (thank you Dean Hann!), Sun Electric, AirClaws, and Certified Mechanical Company, Inc. All did a remarkable job, and kudos to the residents and staff of Serenity Grove who adapted every day in every way. We intend to host an Open House to share the results: stay tuned for upcoming details!

Another very special shout out to an amazing group of young people who gathered and donated much-needed household items: the Andrew Jackson Davison Club at Athens Middle School.

YOU ROCK!

Donations from the Andrew Jackson Davison Club included paper towels, Ziploc bags, Saran wrap, aluminum foil, napkins, dishwashing detergent, toilet paper, laundry detergent, and much more. We are grateful!

Winter celebrations spanned Black History Month, resident birthdays, and the annual Calliope Concert. Cold days were made warmer through Pet Therapy and, of course, our weekly communal dinners where we often had the added enjoyment of several Ohio University students joining us.

VOLUNTEERING in our community!

Spring brought on our second round of volunteering for the Athens Marathon. We appreciate the inspiration drawn from the runners and the opportunity to give back to our community. We deeply appreciate the generous and unexpected donation from the Athens Marathon Committee to Women for Recovery.

Spring Comes with celebrations and renewal

We are grateful for all who supported our mission from the very beginning and for those who have stepped up as the journey continues. Picture 2 - Margie Smith and Cate Matisi, deep in conversation. 5 YEARS

IT TAKES A VILLAGE!

Race For a Reason

Crossing the finish line after the 3K walk, congratulations are given to board member Janalee Stock (middle) who completed the triathlon.

Each year, we participate in Race for a Reason. Leaning on each other to support the physical challenge of a triathlon or the 3K Walk, we learn about mental strength and a positive, CAN-DO attitude. "Yes, I can!"

A big shout out to the College of Health Sciences and Professions for sponsoring our residents and for all who chose Serenity Grove from the many great causes this year.

Calliope members brought fun, food, and fantastic songs to Serenity Grove to kick off summer with a potluck, sing-along, and bonfire.
