Happy Epiphany!

Epiphany is the season where we behold the ways in which Jesus manifests his life, his lessons, and his light into the world.

Our Epiphany series is entitled

Every Shade from Dark to Light, They Are Precious in His sight.

The series is exploring how Christ manifests himself in the full spectrum of hues, tints, tones, and shades.  Last Sunday we revisited what happens when light touches water.

This Sunday we revisit the theme of what’s done in the dark.

Come let us worship the color-filled Creator who created a colorful world.

Our scriptures this week come from

Micah 6:6-8 & Matthew 5:1–12NRSV

This Week

Sunday, February 1st

Liturgist Volunteers Needed

We are looking for volunteers to participate in worship. We need volunteers to read scripture, and lead us in prayer.

If you are interested please contact Rev. Joshua Warner

at (602)790-1154 or email him at joshuawarner@dscumc.net.

Our Giving

If you use your mobile device to give your tithes and offerings

to Cross Roads, you'll need to install the Vanco Mobile App.

A reminder: If your giving comes by check, please expect a slight delay in your bank account deduction. A growing number of tithes and offerings now come to us electronically, so our money counters only meet every other Monday to deposit cash and checks. Until then, all gifts wait patiently in our church safe.

What Does the Lord Require?

A Pastoral Letter grounded in Micah 6:1–8

A PRAYER FOR THIS MOMENT:

God of justice and compassion,

Hold the grieving, protect the vulnerable, strengthen the weary.

Expose the roots of violence and uproot the systems that harm.

Give us courage to act, wisdom to discern, and humility to follow your way.

Make us instruments of your peace and partners in your justice.

We pray for Minneapolis, as we pray for Las Vegas, for Phoenix, for Tucson, for Yuma, for Las Cruces, for El Paso, and for every community across our country where families live under the shadow of enforcement that disregards human dignity.

Bring an end to the raids, the fear, the violence, and the trauma inflicted upon your children.

Let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

Amen.
