From supporting survivors to expanding access to education and economic opportunity, this is what community in action looks like. Across Delaware, lives are being changed every day—because people choose to show up, speak out, and give back. You are part of that change. | | |
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month
This April marks 25 years of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, a powerful reminder of how far we've come and how much work remains as we continue to raise awareness, support healing, and move communities to action as we work to end sexual violence.
Since opening in 2015, our Sexual Assault Response Center (SARC) has supported over 30,000 survivors and their loved ones. Behind every number is a person who found care, compassion, and the courage to begin again, and we remain here, 24/7, for anyone who needs us. Call 800-773-8570 to connect with a trained advocate.
This month, we also invite you to visit your local library and explore a curated collection of survivor-centered books—stories that educate, uplift, and inspire action around consent, prevention, and advocacy.

The Until Justice Just Is Challenge Kicks Off This Week
Our Until Justice Just Is (UJJI) is an annual campaign to deepen awareness, spark conversation, and inspire collective action around the most pressing issues facing our communities. This year's theme, Democracy in Progress: Voting Rights at 250, invites us to reflect on the progress made in expanding access to the ballot, recognize the systemic barriers that still exist, and take meaningful steps to protect the fundamental right to vote.
Week one grounds us in the history of voting rights in the United States—exploring how systems of exclusion were built into our laws and how generations of advocates worked tirelessly to challenge them. These stories remind us that progress has always required participation, courage, and collective effort.

Building a Stronger Future: The Resilience Fund
Every day, families across our state rely on YWCA Delaware for safety, support, and a path forward. To ensure these services remain strong and accessible, we launched the Resilience Fund—a $1.5 million campaign to sustain our most critical programs.
As funding landscapes shift, this effort helps protect uninterrupted access to safe housing, 24/7 sexual assault and domestic violence crisis response, and economic empowerment services for women and families across Delaware.
Thanks to the generosity and leadership of early supporters and Founders’ Circle members, we’re proud to share that we are already halfway to our goal.
Now, we invite you to be part of what comes next. Whether you choose to attend an upcoming Resilience Fund Community Gathering, make a contribution, or simply learn more about this effort, your support helps ensure that YWCA Delaware can continue showing up for those who need us most—today and for years to come.
