WE ARE LOOKING FOR IMAGINATIVE AND ORIGINAL SHORT FILMS THAT FEATURE

ST. HELENA'S EVERYDAY HEROES

Open to anyone aged from 10 to 100 who live in St. Helena, California.

Made possible by a Grant from

the City of St. Helena.

Think about who is the hero in your life and what being a hero means to you.

We all know an Everyday Hero. It is the person who does simple acts; of kindness, courage, and love. We are looking for short films that share your experiences, thoughts, and stories about the people in your life who are making St. Helena and the Napa Valley a better place for everyone.

For details and submission forms, please email Cathy Buck OR contact her at info@cameocinema.com.

Free Filmmaking Workshop

When: Saturday, September 16, 2023

Where: Boys and Girls Club of St. Helena

1420 Tainter Street, St Helena, CA 94574

Time: 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM Lunch provided.

Please join us for a free, fun, interactive workshop to help youth and adults alike bring out their inner filmmaker and be a part of the Cameo Cinema’s new “Faces of St Helena” film project.

A team of award-winning local filmmakers will guide you through the process of making a short biographical film about a St. Helena resident of your choice.

The 4-hour workshop will cover:

  • Basic storytelling process
  • How to choose the right character with the right story and conduct an effective interview
  • What is “b-roll” and how you use it
  • How to edit your footage into a compelling, entertaining and inspiring story.

With today’s technology, anyone can learn how to make a documentary film—and have fun doing it. Your videos will then be turned into a short documentary showing the many faces that make up our beloved community and screened at the Cameo in a special event!

The workshop will include a light lunch and opportunities to practice new skills, get expert advice, and prepare to bring one of the many faces of St. Helena to the big screen.

All ages and all levels of skill welcome. No film experience or expensive equipment needed. RSVP to Cathy Buck or at info@cameocinema.com Walk-ins welcome.
