Church School Update
Everyone is Welcome
The Gospel reading for today is from Matthew 10:40-42: Jesus said, "Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. What does it mean to welcome someone? How do you welcome someone who visits your home, your school, or your church? In the video above, Cornelius welcomes people into his home. Watch the video and use the questions below to discuss the story:

  • Cornelius and his family are gentiles. What is a gentile? A gentile is someone who isn't Jewish.
  • What led Peter and the others to travel together?
  • What does Peter do with the group that we do as Christians?
  • Why is it important that everyone is welcome?
  • How does this story remind us of God's love for us?
Love Others Shaving Cream Craft
Jesus wants us to love others as He loves us. In the video above, Director of Children's Education Mary Beth Tipton demonstrates how to make shaving cream prints. Share them with those you love and send us pictures of your creations!
Story Time with Miss Kate
This week Miss Kate reads the book Thank You Omu! by Oge Mora. This beautifully illustrated book tells the story of a generous woman who shares her big, fat pot of thick, red stew. Kate Goldkamp has been a member of the Church of St. Michael and St. George for nine years and is a curatorial assistant at Washington University Libraries.
