Hate Has No Home In Our Parks
Parks and recreation programming are fundamentally rooted in equity and inclusion. Si View Metro Parks denounces all forms of hate and strives to offer safe, welcoming, communal public spaces and programs that are inclusive of all and benefit all. Our parks are safe places that build community and have no barriers.

Sharing this message of equity, inclusion and belonging is an action step we all can take today to support and strengthen our community. In response to the recent national spike in hate crimes, and to foster an inclusive Snoqualmie Valley community, the District encourages community members to consider how we individually and collectively have a role to play in supporting our neighbors and helping to keep our community safe.

At the April 7, 2021 board of commission meeting, District commissioners adopted a statement supporting equity, inclusion and belonging in District parks.
Si View Metropolitan Park District strives to create an inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds and experiences. We are committed to equity, inclusion and belonging, and seek to act in ways such that every individual, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, immigration status, religion, age, disability status, or financial means feels welcome, safe, respected and a valued part of our community.
The District is working on action steps to raise community awareness and provide tools for staff. Community members are encouraged to report all hate crimes and bias related incidents. If a situation feels dangerous or the crime is ongoing, you should call 911. Bias-related incidents can also be reported by calling the police non-emergency number at 425-888-3333. Incidents in King County can also be reported online to Coalition Against Hate and Bias
