About the Program

Ever wondered what kind of visa a star athlete from abroad needs to play in top U.S. leagues like the NFL, NBA/WNBA, NHL, MLB, or MLS? Or whether international college athletes can cash in on NIL deals or earn a salary while holding a student visa? This program dives into both nonimmigrant (temporary) and immigrant (permanent) U.S. visa pathways for foreign athletes, as well as the practical, everyday challenges of managing immigration compliance for elite athletes.

This program is presented by the Immigration & Naturalization Law section chaired by Ali Brodie, and co-sponsored by the Sports Law section. Find out more at www.bhba.org.
