Ensenada Missionaries visit FCC….

Ramon and Monica Rios will be in The Dalles September 20-23 fellowshipping with the FCC family. The Rios’ have been in ministry in Ensenada, Mx. for the past 35+ years. Ramon pastors a church in Ensenada and conducts evangelistic trips to areas where the gospel is seldom heard. Ramon also encourages pastors in the Baja Peninsula by visiting and praying with them in their ministries. Ramon and Monica have a heart for the unsaved and reach out on a regular basis to those who need to hear the ‘good news’ about Jesus. Ramon and/or Monica will be visiting Friday night service, Men’s Breakfast, preaching Sunday Sept. 22, meeting with leaders Sunday afternoon plus visiting homes.

We look forward to having our brother and sister with us!

Shalom,

Mike W.

Trunk or Treat Needs You!

First Christian Church is hosting a Trunk or Treat on Thursday, October 31 from 4:30-6:00 pm for the young families in our community. We will be offering hotdogs and several fun and festive decorated vehicle trunks from which we will hand out candy to kids.

We need you to help make this annual event successful! Here’s how you can help:

1. YOUR VEHICLE – or more specifically, your trunk, opened up and decorated in a non-scary, fun theme of your choice. Go online and search “church trunk or treat” for ideas! Don’t like to decorate? No problem! We have people who do, so just offer the use of your

vehicle trunk that day, and someone will decorate it for you. All you have to do is pass out candy to kids!

2. DONATE CANDY - Please donate LOTS of candy for us to give out to kids! Now is the time to start looking for candy on sale at our local stores, Costco, or online.

If you will decorate your trunk - or loan your trunk if you don’t want to decorate it – and pass out candy or donate candy, please contact Tia Anderson: 541-980-3918.

ATTENTION ALL YOUTH

SEPTEMBER 25TH

See You at the Pole™, the global day of student prayer, began in 1990 as a grass roots movement with ten students praying at their school. Decades later, millions pray on their campuses on the fourth Wednesday in September.

See You at the Pole™ is simply a prayer rally where students meet at the school flagpole before school to lift up their friends, families, teachers, school, and nation to God. See You at the Pole™ is a student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led event.

Continuing the momentum of See You At The Pole in the morning, Youth are invited to a city-wide community youth rally at Cornerstone Church from 6-8pm.

WHAT WE BELIEVE...First Christian Church The Dalles is not affiliated with a denomination, instead choosing to be overseen by a team of elders. We consider the Bible to be the words of God, thus being incapable of error. As we seek a unified practice of our faith, we follow the teachings of the New Testament. We share communion each Sunday and follow the Biblical pattern for conversion. We support any who have accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord through belief, public confession of faith, baptism by immersion and continual obedience to Biblical standards of living. We hold firmly to essential doctrines but celebrate freedom in non-essentials as we seek to love God, love people, and make disciples who follow Jesus.
