Prayer Is Essential…

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 states, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.

At First Christian Church prayer is an essential part of ministry both in our personal lives and in our corporate lives together. In our core values we state, “We value personal and corporate prayer, aligning our hearts with the God of the universe, displaying our total dependency on Him believing that He hears, cares, and answers.” These are words that are not just written but spoken and lived out in the individual and corporate lives of the church.

Our lives are all about serving Christ and honoring Him, and it all begins and ends with calling on Him in prayer. Philippians 4:6,7 says, "Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Let us not forget where everything starts; at the feet of our Savior…let us be in constant contact with Him each day as we serve Him with a grateful heart.

Shalom,

Mike W.

We would like the congregation to begin diligently praying for the man God has prepared and selected to be our Associate/Successor Pastor. We are near putting the announcement out. Our hearts are that the man will recognize God's call on his life and apply, and that we will recognize the applicant as God's call.

Last Days of Jesus Kick-Off

January 12th

2pm

As I memorize my way through the Bible, I've actually been enjoying the book of Job, and have found some tasty tidbits. So far, my favorite part is Job's lament in chapters 16 & 17, because I found verses that echo Psalm 22. They seem more like things that happened to Jesus than to Job or David, and I can picture scenes from The Last Days of Jesus as I read them. So, as we prepare for a new rehearsal season, kicking off practices on Sunday, January 12th, I would encourage you to take a read through of Job 16 & 17, and see some of the prophetic words Job speaks of what our Savior would endure on our behalf.

I would also ask that you pray for God's leading of our team as we seek out people to fill roles of cast & crew. And you can help by getting the word out! If you or someone you know might want to help portray to our community the life, death & resurrection of our Lord Jesus, please contact us! Email me at lastdaysofjesus1979@gmail.com. Call or text your name & interest to Joyce, 541-300-9062. We can send you the link to our 2025 season schedule. Also, join us for the Kickoff and first practices on January 12th starting at 2pm downstairs at First Christian Church.

Many blessings on your Christmas & New Year!

WHAT WE BELIEVE...First Christian Church The Dalles is not affiliated with a denomination, instead choosing to be overseen by a team of elders. We consider the Bible to be the words of God, thus being incapable of error. As we seek a unified practice of our faith, we follow the teachings of the New Testament. We share communion each Sunday and follow the Biblical pattern for conversion. We support any who have accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord through belief, public confession of faith, baptism by immersion and continual obedience to Biblical standards of living. We hold firmly to essential doctrines but celebrate freedom in non-essentials as we seek to love God, love people, and make disciples who follow Jesus.
